ASN	Student Scholar # 5 February	-Encourage medical students to pursue careers as physicianscientists exploring all aspects of nephrology -To enable medical students with an interest in either basic or clinical research to spend a year in intensive work on a research project.	Students currently enrolled in M.D. programs in medical schools in the United States and Canada. Applications are accepted during any year of medical studies, but applicants in the fourth year of medical school must defer graduation until completion of the research program.
